  1. old guys dwindling in vintage stuff - dead or quiet

My humble opinion.... There is no marketing & resultant "hype" around the vintage bikes... A good thing. So the two reasons folks find reason to research and participate are: 1) They had an old beater ... want to make it run. AND then discover the venues we contribute too and participate in...
  2. 1989 Suzuki Rm250 Vintage Questions

Have a running 1989 RM250, have a few questions: 1) Is there a class for that era motorcycle in AHRMA? 2) Can I graft a later model's front fork/wheel assembly either to the triple clamps or in the steering head? 3) Ditto Shocks? It's been sitting for at least 10 years. It was impossible to...
  3. 1979 Ktm 420 Mc80 Trail Ride

Basically was shamed by the guys racing this weekend to get my ass moving... So I began the process ..slowly, of returning to the riding world.. Here is a Vid of the starting point. That Old KTM is a great place to start! Amazing that after all these years it lit right off in four or five...
  4. Anyone Bummed Out Because Dungy Messed Up?

Yes... I admit it. Didn't realize I was a Dungy fan until this weekend when he essentially lost any chance of the title in Indiana. Not that I don't like Roczen, Just really don't care if he wins or not, but bummed Dungy doesn't have a chance this weekend to pull off another championship. AND...
  5. Okay, You're a nub

Plan to with Mary and one or two of the back in the house kids.... YOU have to be happy Roczen is headed to ride RM's! Maybe another championship about to happen for those yellow machines? (Next year)
  6. Okay, You're a nub

Pretty Much Sums up what you hear every where else.... Can add a couple more online sourced "splats"... Who does KTM want to win the title now? :) Or another...how about once JS came clean.... there has been a slight shake up in the standings? (Tomac & Dungy move up And RV decided to sell off...
  7. So did Roczen take out Villopoto?

Maybe .. maybe not. But in the grand scheme of things... Aldon Baker is training Roczen now. And who's got the Red Plate?
  8. So Its Official.. Roczen Headed To Rch

And I don't get it. WHY? (Dean Wilson will get his ride)
  9. What vintage bike would YOU want??

  10. Old Ktm & Rubble From The Past 40 Years Of Riding

And.. A ride around the farm... some of you may remember these trails from 10-12 years ago. A little Street time then a street bike on the trails and farm fields... Been a while since motorcycles have been in my life. Might be time to re-engage.
  11. Old Ktm & Rubble From The Past 40 Years Of Riding

Old Junk In The Garage......Need to mix match trade etc and get some of this stuff going again.... What do you think? Worth the effort??
  12. James Stewart says....

I was at 'dilla. Stewart was fast and he did look like he was fighting the bike late in the first moto and right from the start in the second..still wish he wouldn't have dropped out. I agree he should put in his time and gut it out like the more hard core. But when you get right to it, this...
  13. What vintage bike would YOU want??

A thread with some pics... http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13574
  14. What vintage bike would YOU want??

I already have my number one..a 1979 KTM MC80 420 The other I would like to have someday is a four speed 1970 250cc OSSA Stiletto. I also have a evo cheater bike..a 1982 Husqvarna XC430 with the later model double leading shoe front brakes and a built suspension....but my kids ran it for...

  17. Vintage Husqvarna ride....

As the land owner....I can say with authority your Maico's are more than welcome....if anyone has some issue..park at the house and you an I will trail ride. How's that? My 1979 KTM is "Husky" enough...my VOR probably would be pushing it...I spectate with it and participate with either the 79...
  18. RM250 will not kick start

  19. Vintage Husqvarna ride....

  20. RM250 will not kick start

unless you put a little gas in the spark plug hole...then it pops first kick. It has good compression, a hot spark (new ignition), new reed valves, clean air filter....but I can not for the life of me get it to kick start cold. When hot...its a first kick starter...and it will bump start (hard)...
  21. Cornell Polo, I know it isn't Motorcycles, BUT

Thanks, Polo is a crazy sport. (Chukkars are "quarters" just they are call chukkars as the ref throws the ball into the line up of players to start one.) Collegiate polo is played in indoor arena's and is sort of like watching ice hockey as its done usually at a flat out sprint(gallop) from...
  22. gilera nx 250 (1985)

Wonder if a place like Kustom Kraft can blend a piston from another bike to a sleeve and make it run. Bearings & seals can be had from any good bear house. Kustom Kraft years ago fixed me up when I had to rebuild a Cagiva WMX200. Bet that bike is still running out in the Wyoming/Colorado area!
  23. Cornell Polo, I know it isn't Motorcycles, BUT

(Thanks H.L. Gomer, hope your feeling better, and yes the right PT can make a huge difference in rehab.) She still rides her motorcycles..I have an older RM250 for her but she preferes to ride that Husqvarna XC430 I used to ride when you folks were here. She commutes to Cornell year around...
  24. Cornell Polo, I know it isn't Motorcycles, BUT

My oldest Step daughter starts at the No.1 position on the Cornell Womens Varsity Polo team this year. A few here met her several years ago when we did a couple of rides here at the farm and she litterally dragged a XR100 with its chain jammed about 3/4 mile thru the woods, up a hill and to the...
  25. A parable...funny too is it wasn't so true!

From "pbree" over at arboristsite And I copy & paste: "John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced...
