    PW 50 front fork repair

    Hello all,

I am rebuilding a PW50 for my grandson. I have the front forks off of the bike, but cannot get them apart. I have removed the circlip where I can see the fork seal, but I can't get the top to seperate from the bottom. I don't see any screws that I have missed. What am I not doing right? The bike is old, probably around a 90 model. It is yellow and black.

    Thanks for the help.

Why are you trying to pull them apart?

Pull the spring out, extend the fork, top it off with oil, put the cap back on, clamp it in a vise, wrap a ratchet tie down around it, and tighten it until you can get the seal off. You might have to tap the seal back in a few times to keep it level. This is what I do with my son's KX.
I do not believe that the PW50 has the typical fork seals, or even fluid that needs replacing. You should verify the usefulness of the procedure with your dealer service department before jumping into it. I do not believe that the PW50 has the typical fork seals, or even fluid that needs replacing. Also, the clymer manual doesn't list a fliud for the PW50 fork, or show a seal in the exploded view.
