Maico

I'm trying to resist, but am probably going to go look at a Maico 440 tomorrow ('74-'75). My wife doesn't know, and I just got a fat first of the month check. I thought I would ask you all to talk me out of it, instead of someone like my mother-in-law. Help me please ---- I'm weak!

You sound like you need help! Rescue the poor bike! I'm sure some DRN will help you out should the burden become too much to bear. By the way, I'll be in Denver in a couple of weeks........

You should leave that sorry azz money pit right where it sits and never look back. Run away! You don't need the aggravation and stress. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT BUY A MAICO!

Now where is it and what's the guy's phone number?

Actually guys, it was sold to a dealer in Ft. Morgan Colorado (I had to ask) before I connected with the guy. Sort of bittersweet. I was about to do a bad thing behind the wife's back, and wouldn't have lived it down for --- quite a while, if history repeats. I'll stay on the 'good guy list' --- no help to any of YOU, BTW!

And I'd have a better attitude about it if I didn't have a Wiseco piston pin clip fly into the twilight zone at about 6pm tonight, too.

Colorado, I am really sorry about the piston pin clip! VintageDirt & I really DID have your 'good guy' status in mind. You could have bragged what a "good guy" you were to make sure that the poor Maico was rescued by one of your kind, caring, and compasionate, DRN buddies! You would have been only performing a 'mission of mercy'. Now the poor bike has been sentenced to do time at some cold, heartless dealership, without any of the TLC one of us would have given it in our loving homes.
