My junker updated! LoL

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: John Cena

Check out my Junker now! I painted most of the rusted parts red! Alittle more sanding and polishing then some clear coat and my pipe will look killer shiny.

I wanna get some material the seat covers made of too and add some foam to make the seat flat right now it slops into the tank makes it hard to sit in the middle plus my legs are to long need more distance from the foot pegs. issed:

I still gotta get the rest of that yellow paint off my swing arm too, I need some new fork boots think i'm gonna get some black 1s

I tapped threads in my seat so my bolts and seat dont come off

Pictures, beware junker to be seen:

I say paint it all red...makes your bike faster

Seriously, I saw a pic of a KX like mine that the owner did in all black and purple and it looked pretty cool. Made it look a like a current model freestyle bike.
I'd definitely do it...except its not my bike and she wont let me

I'll see if I can find the pic...

Posted by: chalie

Just tell her you ordered pink plastic and they accidently sent black, before you realized thier mistake it was already installed. Flames, skulls, and all!
The only downfall is you may need to stay at a friends for a week or so

I think the black plastic looks pretty good. here's another. but this KX250 is now a street racer.

Posted by: Milhaus

lol...you dont know her, Chalie....She'd prefer black and skulls to pink any day....but she'd prefer limegreen to any of that as well
Nice looking bike, but remember John Cena (Lee)'s is an early 90's KDX....might not turn out quite the same as a late model KX250

Posted by: John Cena

The 92 KDX 200 is bad you can't really get many graphics and the frame and plastic look like turd. I can't wait till I get my newer bike in Oct.

Posted by: Speedfreek

It doesn't matter what it looks like, how does your KDX work ?
KDX is a good trail bike,I don't think you'll find much better for trails without laying out a lot of cash.

Posted by: highflyernick

That supermoto KX250 is sweet chalie, I assume it is yours? I have a 01 KX250 also, except it's not set up for supermoto. What all engine mods are done to that KX? And what gearing? Are your forks lowered/set up for supermoto?

Posted by: chalie

Oops. sorry if i misled anyone. That's not my bike. It's the same year as my bike, however mine is bone stock. I found that pic on a website i was visiting a few weeks and thought i'd share. There were loads of modded out bikes on this site. I'm going to go through me e-history and see if i can find the link. I'll post it here in an edit.
Funny you mension the hight. I would have figured they'd drop that thing to get a better center of gravity and stiffer suspension with less travel. Hmmmmm
Notice the kickstand and passenger pegs. Nice set up.

Posted by: highflyernick

Hey chalie, my 01 KX250 is almost bone stock -- except for V force 3 reedcage, Works Connection Frame Guards, Renthal Sprockets, DID Gold O - Ring Chain. Then I will be adding to that list soon -- Tag T2's, top triple clamp, bar mounts, bar pad and grips -- and a Works connection skid plate. And in the winter I'm putting a fresh top end in, and MAYBE getting my shock done my Pro Tech. Then I will be ready to race next year!

I've got a 95 KX250 I picked up for a project bike. Trouble is I have too many projects so it sits in the corner waiting for attension.

Posted by: chalie

hey highflyernick. Sounds like you're well on your way. How does the v force reedcage work for you? notice any difference? I'm not planning any mods on my bike as i just like to rip on the trails. The KX has way more power than i need right now. It's a great bike. I use it mostly in the mid rpm range and it goes like stink! The best part about all the mid range power is that it provides much better traction.
At high rpm my tire just spins and the bike won't keep up.
How is your jetting set up? Have you made changes. All the newer KX250s eg. 1996 and up all seem to have been set up ritch. I'm thinking of changing soon.

Posted by: highflyernick

Chalie, I did my jetting when I had put my V force in. I was having problems with fouling sparkplugs and then the spark plugs wouldn't work (I figured there was something electrical and I dont like messing with electrical stuff) so I took it to a guy I know. And he found my reeds were chipped, so I got V force 3 and put it in, he also re-jetted the bike while he had it. So im not sure how the jetting is set as I wasn't the one who did it. But he said the pilot jet was too rich and the main jet was fine. I think thats what it was, but im not sure. Also, after I got my bike back with good jetting and V force 3 in I found there was more power everywhere! And a snappier throttle response. I think the V force 3 was a good choice as it added some power, better throttle response and I needed new reeds anyways.
