Ok fellows,
I've been hard at it tring to get my spare bike ready for a friend of mine to come up from Pennsivania. So far tonight it's taken a few beers ,a few glasses of red wine and a few more glasses of white wine to get the bike almost ready. I'm a few hose clamps away from having it ready with the exception of a 46mm split fork seal driver. Can anyone around here hook me up with one or am I going to have to grovel back to previous workplaces for one?
Helppppppp me out here guys,I don't want to spend $80.00
on a seal driver so a friend can ride. Althought I will if thats what it takes. Somebody here must have one?
The friend has his own bike but to save him hauling it a great distance I offered to put one togethor for him so he could just take the bus and ride my spare(which is better then my normal ride) I just need a 46mm split seal driver to finish the deal. I' sure my good friend Coalpilot would apreciate the help so help me out here brothers and don't make me grovel back to previous bike shops for help.

You may want to try a large socket or a piece of pvc pipe to use as a seal driver.

I once beat a seal in with a hammer and a motion pro tire iron. Two seals, actually.

Does that indicate that I was more intoxicated or less intoxicated than Speedfreak?

It didn't leak, either. That's the scary thing.

what a dumb title for a post about a seal driver. no wonder you haven't gotten any help.

i made a seal driver out of short section of pvc pipe. i cut it in half lengthwise and i just use hose clamps to tighten it to the fork leg, then gently use the fork leg as sort of a slide-hammer to tap the seal in.

Now that I think about it, why the heck were you having a wine tasting party while wrenching on the bike? Dirtbikes are big manly things! Only beer should be consumed while wrenching on dirtbikes.

Was it even a real dirtbike, or were you wrenching on a pink scooter?

Do scooters have 46mm fork tubes?

I thought you were more cultured than us but in the end it's revealed that you are actually just a addict looking for your next high. Hide the cold medicine and mouthwash.

I haven't had to try it but I have heard of the sliced and diced PVC trick for the driver.

I've used the pvc method on conventional forks before and I have to say I didn't like it. I guess I'm just spoiled from using the proper seal drivers.I guess I'll get the forks all ready to have the seals slammed in and swing by one of the local shops and see if they'll let me pop the seals in with their driver. Thanks for all the suggestions

Now.....where did I put that mouthwash..............

Gotcha b!tch!

The PVC pipe idea sounds like a good one, and the price is right but what do I know (?). Bump for your thread anyways.

my frends call it the motorock!!

Posted by: i_955

Moto Park, they've covered it in sand and water it constantly. I've only ever been there once, which was this year, it was awesome.

Posted by: Speedfreek

ok guys, lets get me out to one track and then we'll or I will figure out whether another track is in the gameplan, lol

Posted by: mike black

just thought that it might be closer to ya
hey i_955 i went up there 1 month ago and looked like a lot of rocks though!! have not rode there so i'm just going by what i saw

Posted by: i_955

I went June 4th this year and they definately sanded the track.
It is totally possible the sand washed away or sunk into the existing dirt.
The owner of the track in Innerkip had several loads of sand brought in a couple months ago, not a grain can be found now.
