Hey guys, I am new here, from hamilton, ontario.. any places close by to ride... say within 20-30 minutes drive?
I am looking to get a 4-stroke 225-250cc bike, for trail riding and such... i noticed mention of places near turkey point, and i would like to go there eventually, but wouldnt mind staying close to the hammer for the time being, since i am new to the bike world..

Hi, welcome to DRN, I'm also from Hamilton! You can check out Autotrader.ca and look for bikes it's a great site. There isn't really any place legal to ride around Steel town.
I'm thinking gophers is about 1, 1/2 hours away, never been there before though so
Anyways my names: Lee I'm 20 yrs old.

Welcome, spyder. I saw your post on RFD as well, lol!
Unfortunately, theres only 1 or 2 guys there that ride, so your post is a bit of a longshot.
But good luck looking for a thumper bike anyways.

What's RFD Milhaus?

Near Hamilton you have Steel Riders Club track, Eagle's Nest track, Gopher Dunes track, and Turkey Point Provincial Park ( legal with plate and insurance ) all are 1/2 to an hour away.

Its a site where people post and search for bargains. Not dirtbike related at all, more electronics focussed.

how much is it to plate and insure a bike?
Posted by: spyd4r
for plating and insurance do i have to have a M license?
Posted by: chalie
nope. not nessissary. Ownership is all you need. It also helps to insure your car and bike at the same place. (more than half off)

You will need to get a "green" off road plate. When you go to buy the plate don't tell them its for a dirt bike. They get all confused. Just call it an off-road plate. It's $35.00 and its good for lifetime. They will want to know insurance info. first. They don't ask for a license.
Some, not all insurance companies want you to have a GM license first before insuring you on a dirt bike. Try 1-877-IGO4ATV. Its about 45.00 per month.
