the real question is how soon. Take a look at this gem I found at the honda website. I think even Rich and Eric will like this one.

Honda has been shipping Keihn battery-less EFI systems on CRF250 based engines in the Montesa 4RT trials bikes for over a year now. It's a really nice system that I'm convinced will find it's way onto California based CRFX models by 2007.
