I just wondered what experiences anyone had with filter skins ?. It seems that they would be good for a, in between moto freshin up of your filter ..

I've used them, they work more or less as advertised. I found that on my KX250 if I oiled the filter skin I had to re-jet to keep from being too rich and running poorly. for longer desert rides this is what I did and it worked well, though probably slightly down on power. Most of the time I ran filter skins without oil (but oild the filter as usual) - this worked well, not noticeable difference on engine perofrmance and it still stopped a noticeable amount of dust - not as much as an oiled filter skin, but still pretty good.

Another product I've not tried, but have heard good things about are the outwares pre-filters.

good luck

I use skins. I ride very much in sand and the skin collects the dust.
Don`t have to change the airfilter so often as usual!
I don`t use so much oil at the skins, just a little bit (spray can filteroil).

My place is a very sandy track , a filter skin sounds like just the ticket .
THANKS........
