Ceramic ball bearings have a very good reputation. I have a small diesel (3HP) that eats up main bearings. I plan on using ceramics in the engine. As microwelding is the problem. The ceramics do not microweld. We use silicon nitride ceramic bearings in the aerospace field with excellent results.

However, the main bearings generally last a good long time in a motorcycle. Maybe money is better spent elsewhere if lifespan is your only requirement.
