electro-controlled shock

Well, how's about the suspension guys cross over into here and give us their take on MR fluid shocks. I ran into this by accident chasing something related. It seems they've been progressing in recent years with more practical designs. Check out this:

Offhand I don't know the commonly used force/velocity parameters of shocks on modern bikes, but I've got a feeling they're reasonably similar between brands due to similar bike weights and linkage geometries. Maybe this shock is in the ball park. Imagine the possibilities with mapped/servoed etc suspension tuning with nary a stack to be found. Of course I'm not sure if the power dissipative abilities of the MR fluid shocks are up to par yet. Put a computer fan on it ... ;-) Put a computer fan on the old twin outboard shocks too ... ;-)
