There's No where Left to Ride.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

UPDATE: ALL T-Shirts are HERE, Including "Ride Stealth"

Seriously, if we don't do something ourselves, your local government will. It's happening all over the country. I suppose we can just avoid it and wait until we suddenly realize, "there's nowhere left to ride".

Make no mistake ... EVERYONE in the general population hates noise. This is the number one issue we face; a lot of people blow-off the environmentalists when they cry for a yellow-bellied speckle fish or some plant we've never heard of, but they DO react to noise, with a vengence. Look at the case in Riverside, CA... on PRIVATE property, you are limited to 1 bike/ATV per 10 acre parcel. How many riders qualify for that? Got 10 acres? Cool, go ride by yourself.

It's not just happening "somewhere else". The push is on and it will effect you. My local track was closed, noise was the number one complaint.

Don't look the other way... it'll smack you in the back of the head.

So this is a non-profit deal? That's not fair. You need to be compensated to some degree for your time making the site, testing time, etc. I think I'll buy one, or two.

Posted by: Okiewan

Just get the word out, it'll all good!

Posted by: Kawidude

Is there anything on the other side?

-Duh, nevermind. I just clicked the link. Looks good!

Posted by: Okiewan

No problem printing both sides.... I was just thinking it was fine on one... but, it's only about a 10 minute job to set it up to print the back.

You da man Okie

And to those of you who say "It's my right" or "I don't care what others think, man"...keep on saying that - right up to the moment that no one has a place to ride.

Noise is killing our sport. If you don't get quiet for others, do it for your own selfish preservation.

I'm buying a shirt.

Posted by: Okiewan

Bumper sticker added ... see first post.
Text " Loud Sucks ... Save Our MX Tracks & Trails"

Posted by: RM_guy

Do you have a bunch in stock? I won't be able to order them for 2-3 weeks.

Posted by: Okiewan

There is no "stock" .... in the short term, we are using cafe press to make the shirts and stickers (bumper) ... you can order whenever, they make them as orders come in.

We are also working on stickers (Thanks Wolf!), small, bike size... will advise.

Posted by: RM_guy

Thanks. Maybe there will be more stuff for me to buy then too

Posted by: Masterphil

How about some swingarm stickers:

Posted by: Okiewan

LOL.. yeah that would be cool. Bet you can trim a "bumber sticker" and make it fit.

So far, there are about 5 people even interested in the problem ... can't stretch too thin.

I fully understand that there are enough problems in life to deal with and that this is our "hobby" and supposed to be a release, a way to have fun and for sure not supposed to be another one of those life problems... and there are many that ride that would just as soon quit riding as care (yes there are some like that) or those that just want to ignore yet another issue in their complicated lives. That's why I want to keep LoudSucks.Com short and sweet and not try to ram stuff down people's throats. All we are really asking is for people to be aware .. stay stock or maybe go with a quiet pipe or add-on. It's happened before and it can happen again, the pipe mfg's will make light, quiet pipes if we just stop automatically thinking that loud pipes makes us faster and stop buying them.

Posted by: Masterphil

True.

Is there, by chance, orange available for the loud sucks shirts?

Posted by: Okiewan

Sorry, No. Black, Yellow, White, Gray.

Posted by: kmccune

Damn missed the color choices, guess I got black, but not to worry I can spill more stuff on it and it will still look good

Because STUPID SUCKS also but that might make those that wonder why LOUD SUCKS feel like they are being picked on.

I doubt there are many that don't enjoy the rumble of a nicely done exhaust on a big V8 but then we've all also heard the dork with straight pipes that thinks his rig sounds sweet as he wakes you up a 3am OR the big V twin next to you blairing through open pipes that can hardly get out of it's own shadow being constantly blipped as you sit at the stop light. Basically there is reasonable sound and stupid sound and while there might be some variation of what different people think sounds good the outright loudness of the sound is what turns the vast majority of people off. Why ruin a good thing? We all ride for the same reason, to have fun. If having a loud exhaust is what you consider fun then get a sound track , burn it to a MP3 device and blast it under your helmet as you ride a quite bike.

I think if dirt bikes or atv's create to much " noise " and are being banned and closed down. Then street bikes and harleys shouldn't be aloud on the road or ridden. Think about it, those bikes go right threw the citys. But what ever

Granted, there are STUPID loud harley's .. difference is, they don't ride around in circles all day like we do on tracks or on small pieces of property.

ive got a coworker that rides the loudest harley EVER. he gave it the pass a truck cam , intake , and EXHAUST. their days are numbered before they start putting catalytic converters on all street bikes

I totally agree with quieting bikes down. But I kinda fear wearing a shirt like that and some non-rider seeing it and just reading the big print and it sticks in their head. Next thing they are complaining about bikes that they never noticed before.

Yea, maybe Im over analyzing it. Just the first thing that popped in my head when I saw it.

Posted by: YamaB

Even though I am a slow spode, LOUD pipes make me feel like one of the fast guys...

Mis-reading or interpreting differently than intended could happen with just about anything. A ricer would think it was about his fart can, a audio-idiot thinks it about his subs, harley poser about his bike.... it's all good with me, in every case I can think of, loud does suck lol.

Sir, I order a shirt this morning, do you think it's too late to have it on the back only

here's the order # 25078144

if it is to late, no biggie

Posted by: Okiewan

Uh.. there isn't one back only ... at least not until I can make one.
Go back and cancel the order. I'll try to get that version made this weekend. Otherwise, if it's shipped, you can always return it, no skin off my back...

Posted by: JPIVEY

Nah, I'll let go as it, and order another one later

Thanks for all this hard work

Even those whack jobs are going to say noise was the real issue.

Posted by: Tony Eeds

+1 on the back only ...

I ordered two shirts and 4 bumper stickers for starters and a DW'02 shirt to commemorate breaking my foot.

I wish you had a insulated mug ...

You should link the "stuff". I had lost track of how to get to it ...

Wow ... there was a similar incident where a kid was almost decapitated about 20 years ago in South Arlington.

Posted by: Ol'89r

Okie.

I am also interested in the shirts and stickers. Logo on the back would be good. Are you still at the same address in Lewisville? I will send a check.

Thank you for stepping up to the plate on this one.

Posted by: Okiewan

I'll get a back only version of the shirt made today. I suppose i need to make it in all the colors?

Terry, moved, will get ya the new address. Not sure how to do this, I don't actually sell the shirts, cafepress.com does. I suppose I can order for you. We'll work it out.

Posted by: Okiewan

See the first post... links to BACK PRINT ONLY Tee's is there.
Black is NOT available with back printing.. no idea why.

Posted by: JPIVEY

I totally agree with this statement. We need to police our own.

However what people need to understand is that these tree hugging eco freaks and the politicians that take their side will not stop until we no longer have the freedom to ride at any time at any place period! Loud pipes, sand snails, sage grouse, air pollution and land erosion are just their chosen arguments to shut us down. In the end none of this will make a difference. A day will come when we will have to make a choice of breaking the law and riding or giving up a sport, tradition, recreation and way of life we hold dear.

Posted by: Okiewan

I agree with the first couple of sentences ... I do not prescribe to the doomsday opion after that however. As mentioned before, Noise is the one problem that EVERYONE can relate to... saving the sand snails isn't enough motovation to get the masses going... problematic? Yes. The fact remains, Noise is the number one problem and if the day 380 predicted comes, it'll be because our bikes are too loud.

Posted by: 380EXCman

Or the politicians not in our favor have the control! No doomsday idea there. And totally possible...........

so we'll be forced to be more stealthy in order to dodge the law dogs that will be chasing us.

I'm all for being quiet now while it's still legal for me to ride, rather than later when I'm trying to elude The Man.

Exactly........stupid is stupid.
If I'm throwing back the beers, doing donuts in the campground/pits, in my shorts and no helmet, thinking I'm some kind of hero and impressing someone.........I'm an idiot......say something to me! But, if my bike is quiet....only the nearby campers/riders know I'm there. (Although the "idiot" thing is still an issue)

Posted by: bigol3

By no means am I trying to say that excess noise is good, nor necessary.....but rather I don't think the real issue....in most cases....is the noise.

There are the tree hugger groups that just do not want bikes on public property.....period. They say the bikes destroy the natural enviroment. I think it is EASIER for them to get the bikes banned on the loud noise, than it is on the destruction of the enviroment BS.

As a general rule, the noise level from todays bike (even the modified ones) is less (overall), than it was 20 years ago......yet the uproar over the noise level continues. I do not think it will ever go away, regardless if ALL bikes are below the 96 db level.

PAC is what is needed. It will take a stronger political lobby.......IMHO.
