Trouble with tags

Last year about this time the forest rangers chewed us out to buy tags so since you cant buy tags from them we had to travel to the nearest gas station and buy some. They told us to keep our papers with us until we got the tags, which we totally ignored. So we where waiting on our tags for months then finnally they arived a month or two before they expire which isn't in the end of winter here. So we never got a chance to use the tags. So now we don't worry about tags. I think it's retarded that they can fine you and [U]INPOND our bikes for not having tags you can't get from them.

If the tags are required you should have had them BEFORE you hit the trail! You got caught possibly trying to get away without having to spend the money and could probably have gotten a fine in addition to having your bikes impounded.
Law enforcement officers have better things to do then carry them around and fill out forms on the trail not to mention carrying change and credit card machines around. Normally the tags have a set expiration and you may get to use them 364 days or 1 day depending when you buy them.

Buy the tags. They are valid from March 31 - March 31. The paltry $15.25 you spend helps pay for the program, but the rest of the money goes into a big pot so off-road and boating groups can request funds for trail maintenance, signs, bridges, boat docks, education, etc. By not buying one, you thumb your nose at groups like ours (nctr.net) who strive to maintain our riding priviledges. We used the OHV money to dismantle, build and install 2 new wooden bridges over riparian areas, and 2 signs explaining that is was a DIRTBIKE GROUP that installed these structures and that we care about our trails we use.

What have you done lately to support our sport? Buy the tags.

I kinda feel like that is akin to not buying a hunting liscense and then going out and hunting on state land. Just do it because it is right and it helps to keep the community alive.

You may want to change your attitude or you won't last very long around here.
