where to ride socal

Hey, i am spending spring break in palm desert california. My buddy and i will have our bikes and we want to know where to ride? we want a place to ride that is not to far from palm desert, but has good trails. If it is worth it an hour or two drive is do-able. But if there is nothing with in that distance am i out of luck?
