Just got a DT -1, little help please!

Hi Everyone, i'm chris, from England. I've just got a 1972(?) dt 250. Frame and engine number DT1F 156039. These bikes (and parts) are like hen's teeth over here, so it looks like i'll be living on ebay for the foreseeable future!
The first thing i'd like to know is what exact model it is, I have seen a press advert for a DT1-F and was wondering if this is what i have, or is the "F" just another model derivation and not relevant to the chassis number?? I'll enclose a pic of it, and the bike if i can.
I'll obviuosly be looking for a lot of parts in the coming months, so if anyone has any tips for good places to get stuff apart from ebay, bobbits etc please pass on any tips.
