Does anyone on here know if the factory MX and SX teams employ design engineers to help with designing custom parts for their bikes?

I am sure they all do !

That's something I would really like to do for a living, engineering things for the motorcycle industry.

Yeah , would be really cool to work with an almost unlimited budget !

I hope, that would be AWESOME! I'm going to go to Collage for Computer Aided Drafting, Mechanical. So that would be a DREAM job for me.

If you find somewhere let me know

you should brush up on your spelling before applying to a university

What school are you planning on going to? I am about to graduate from Purdue in December.

One person who might be willing to offer some advice to you is Ammar Bazzaz, of Bazzaz Performance, at: http://www.bazzazperformance.com/in...w&id=1&Itemid=1

While his experience is in roadracing, he has worked as an engineer for several of the manufacturer's race teams.

It couldn't hurt to send him a note; you might get some good information.

Of course, Rich & Eric have "been there & done that," years ago. They probably got the T-shirt, too.

Well, i don't type perfect when I'm writing online, and i get mixed up on collage and college.

And i plan on going to PTI (Pittsburgh Technical Institute) or ITT Tech. Don't know yet, i have a year to compare and decide.

That's funny. Guess what? The motorcycle industry is just like every other industry in the world. There are budgets. The only difference with motorcycle racing is instead of going home on the weekend to hang out, it's off to the races.

That said, I know I'd still love to be working in the motorcycle industry, provided I don't have to live in SoCal (I'm a mechanical engineer FWIW).

Man, you guys are just like me! Mechanical engineer, worked in the industry, didn't really mesh well with SoCal so I left.

Ok I see now . In my shop we have almost no budget. But some free time , lots of late nights and some days of testing to see what works , then we hope to get paid for it . If you work for a bigger corp . you get paid to test as you test . I think that would be cool.
