I live in Syracuse (west of Layton) and would love to hook up and do some trail riding this summer. In the spring and fall I do most of my riding in the desert but in the summer I stick to the trails. Last summer, me and two buddies had a great ride on the Skyline trail which is up by Ogden. I grew up riding that trail but had never put together all the sections. It is one of the few great single-track trails left close along the Wasatch Front. It was about a 50 mile ride of single track (25 in and 25 back). You crest three peaks in the process (Lewis Peak, Ben Lomond Peak, and Willard Peak). It's a great ride.
I also have ridden and enjoy a few of the loops near Bountiful. Drop me a line at mandjknight@yahoo.com and we'll hook up. I've also been wanting to try the Stansbury Front trail (http://www.ruxtonnoble.com/wasatch.html) and that would be a good common location if you are in Salt Lake.

I actually am trying to figure out what trail this is. I am about to buy my first dirt bike, and wanted to make sure I am on the right trail (I want to go on Skyline trail with my bro for one of my first rides). I believe this is the same trail I have been hiking lately - From north Ogden, you enter the canyon. At the highest point of the road, there is a trailhead parking lot where you can either head up to Lewis peak (which also goes down to the Pine View Res. Lake), or up to Ben Lom. - Is this the one you can actually DIRTBIKE?? Seemed pretty steep/intense to do, especially downhill...
