The Local Chapters Moderators would like you to join a DRN Local Chapter or form up a Chapter in your area. Let us know what type of riding you enjoy and where you live. DRN members are great riding buddies so lets hear from you.

If there is enough interest in Louisiana, I would love to have a chapter here. I live in Lafayette. Any others in Louisiana interested in a CajunSpode Chapter?

I prefer trail/hairscrambles/enduros but it seems lately that I only get to squeeze in time at the local MX tracks.

When will I stop falling for that warm and fuzzy personalized post feeling?

I'd like to join a local chapter (as long as I don't have to be fast, motivated, in shape, or hard working). I'm over here in the Duke City (hot, cold, and windy all on the same day). I've only met one DRN member, and it's BEEF706. I don't have the energy to form a local chapter (soccer, cheerleading, girl scouts, swimming, work, wife travels, I'm a lazy bum, etc).

But thanks for asking.

As far as I know Im part of the Socal Crew....Is there some sort of formal sign up that I dont know about?

Posted by: BSWIFT

No, not at this time. I was playing with Okie's Username Hack trying to draw some more people into the Local Chapters. Formal paperwork will need to be done sometime but not right at the moment.

I figured that out, but I would like to have a more local chapter. I feel kinda lonely down here!

Posted by: Papakeith

I feel your pain Motohead. I've got to drive (usually) 4+ hours to hook up with fellow DRNers. It'd be nice if there were a big enough group of us in RI, Mass and eastern Conn.

Posted by: JPIVEY

I thought I was a member of the SCWC

Me too!

Posted by: Motololo

our "local chapter" would probably cover the north vally from Sac. to Redding and I'd be the only member!

Posted by: Rooster

I'd start a central, central chapter here in Iowa, but it would just be me, motometal and Trackmaster! Guess I'll have to join up with a chapter to the north or the south. In fact, I think I'll look into that right now.

Posted by: motohead00

Hey KiDX, is there anyone else you know of that would be interested in a Louisiana chapter? Or is it just you and me? What other local chapter would we join?

Motohead00

Posted by: KDX1

I live in southern West Virginia just outside Beckley. Around here, mx seems to be where everybodys interest lies. There is a mx track just up the road from my house, but they aren't AMA sanctioned. The surrounding area of this track has lots of great trails. My primary interest is riding trails fom flat and easy to hilly and everything in between. I haven't really met anyone to ride with, so most of the time I ride alone. I would be interested in trying to drum up interest in a riding club.

Why don't you join the Rhody Rovers M/C in Rhode Island. I know they're not DRN'ers but it would give you plenty of local people to ride with.

I've got a couple friends that I could convince and LaRider20(Troy) might be interested.

Posted by: headshot347

Ya i would like to join a chapter. And as for location some where over the rainbow just so happens to be in northern Florida.

Posted by: FruDaddy

I'm in the Eastern N.Carolina area but I go back to NW Georgia when I can (not nearly often enough). I am pretty sure that the nearest DRN'ers to me are in the Charlotte area and that's about 4 hours on wheels.

I would never join a chapter that would have me as a member.
Unless Lorin is a member, then I would have to.

I resemble that... OldMaicoNut - that's what I am! Last Maico was a 79 450 - aluminum tank - double shock.. Oldest was a 70 or 72 501...

God, I wish I still has my 79!

Seems that no one in this area knows how to use the internet. . . None of the guys I ride with visit this site regularly in spite of my "talking it up".

I mean, geez - my office still has DIAL UP (Not my fault - I've been trying for two years to get my boss to upgrade but he can't see how spending $90.00/mo is worth it.

Then again, he's never actually used broadband. . .

I'm on the West Virginia/Ohio border directly west of Charleston for those who aren't aware.

Posted by: BSWIFT

Check out the different forums. Each region of the country have lots of members that lurk but don't post much. Start a thread and see where it goes. The Local Chapters is all about friends and riding. It just takes effort and not a lot of it. If you have a group and want to set up a home, let me know. I'll get with Okie to get you set up. Have fun and let us know what you have going on.

Do you ever get near the ocean for a ride? As far as I know, there aren't many tracks between us. I am not too much younger than you, and frequent Crystal Coast(MX58), JMP, Half Moon, and (as of today) Haw Branch.
I also know that there are a couple of members here that are in the Charlotte area.

It only appears that you have been singled out. In fact, this thread has been designed to single out everybody. Unfortunately, i do not know the answer to your questions, but if you post them to the forum of the chapter that you are interested in joining, I am sure that somebody there can help.

Posted by: Papakeith

John, was your question "how to join a chapter?" If so, it's simple. To become a Damn Yankee all you need to do is be willing to be one.

If you want to have a group name listed next to your username. Go to your user CP and take a look at your group membership. You can join any group listed there.
We generally have rides at Paragon Adventure Park two to three times a year. We are open to suggestions for places to go too.

Talk to your buds and get a group together. You could be the first European Chapter. You would have to host a Spodefest for all of the other chapters. Overall it is simple, DRN is just a place to get info, talk about places to ride, bench race and have fun. Give it shot.
BTW, Support Team members are the only ones that can use the PM feature. Less than a liter of fuel, give it a shot.

Fru I live in central NC in Albemarle and due to my job as a local truck driver pulling 12 to 13 hours a day 5 days a week I don't get to travel and don't realy feel like driving no where else after a week of work and 2200 miles. The track I've been going to is only about 5 miles from where I live, very conveniant. www.robbinsridgemotorsports.com I've just gotten started back in 06 mainly practicing here at home at my pract track but when the track referbishing is done there I plan to be there every chance chance I get.

Posted by: FruDaddy

I understand, I used to drive myself. Even still, I don't like to drive very far to ride, typically an hour is my limit. I now have 4 tracks within 45 minutes of my house, 3 are within 20. I did, however, bookmark the robbinsridge site in the event that I feel the urge to head that way.

Posted by: pwehel

I'm ready just tell me what to do

Posted by: whenfoxforks-ruled

South end of Lake Michigan, never been trail riding, except when I was young and had to ride to different areas to practice! Still playing with my busted collarbone and am doing allot of spectating! This weekend I believe we'll be going to Motoplex and waving to Mully when we speed through columbia!

I usually ride trials with some light track riding, but I will ride anywhere. Most of the trial riding is one or two hour drive away. There is High Falls SX 15 mins down the road.

Posted by: BigRedAF

Why is my user name on this post?

I'm in the Phoenix area. Three tracks and a forth one that's tied up in court due to a rider death.

http://www.arizonacyclepark.com/ This is the best rack in the area and the nicest owners to deal with. Long drive, 85 miles each way.

http://www.etmotopark.com/ This place has potential but they can't get the dirt figured out. Bummer, it's only 10 miles from home.

http://www.speedworldmx.com/ Not a bad track but very boring, never changes, lots of rocks!

http://copracing.com/ This track had great terrain features and decent soil. Someone got killed and now the track is tied up in court.

At 15, you might be abit limited on your ability to travel unless your folks are into riding. The DYTR have a ride at Paragon every spring and sounds EPIC. I hope to make up their some day but for me it is travel time not cost or ability. The Local Chapters are here for people to meet others in their area but that may still mean an hour or two one-way drive to meet up for a ride. Keep your enthusiasm and don't let the fun guys slow you down, .

I just want to ride. Somewhere, anywhere! Anyone in the Hamilton, Burlington ON area...sign me up. Whatever chapter, paragraph, sentence...I'm in.

Getting grease all over my keyboard, wife's gonna kill me. Back to carb clean up. Then riding. I'll check in later.

Were up in the pacific north west, Canada side, the island that is.

Woods, trail riding mostly, wet and mucky, lots of fun.

Pretty busy raising my kids though; but if someone is in this area and wants to ride, let me know and I will try to hook up.
