I am looking to get a new rear tire for the 650r (the old one is so bad that I decided not to go riding today). Anyone have opinions on a good intermediate tire for a big bore 4 stroke? I was going to try the michelin s12 but I heard somewhere that the sidewalls are not designed for a bike of the big xrs weight. I am primarily a woods and trail rider if that helps...thanks a lot.

I just got a set of Dunlop 752 and they are sweeet!!!! They've stuck to every type of terrain I've been on. Might be worth considering?

Pirelli MT-16 in 450-18 is a tire that holds up very well on all bikes, including heavy ones. This was Scott Summers tire of choice. It works on a broad range of terrain and is a bargain. It wouldn't be good in sand, but it works better in mud than you would expect looking at the tread pattern. Very good all-around.

IRC m5b works well, lasts long, and works great in most everything. It is all I will use on the rear of my 500.

The Maxxis IT wears like Iron, has very stiff side walls and hooks up quite well in the desert conditions of SoCal.
