Has anyone ever owned a Suzuki RL250 and what is your opinion? Are they worth owning or what? I can't find too much info on them

We talking about the mid 70's trials bike?
Had a friend with one, didn't seem to be functionaly superior to the honda tl's we all had, I can only imagine what parts supply is like?...
But I did'nt buy the XN85 whgen I had the chance either (3500$) now the are worth 4x that...
O well, just don't bring up that HD 250mx again! :whiner:

I ended up getting the bike. It's totally clean and runs great. I found some places that have parts plus some even at dealers.
I figured I couldn't go wrong with the price I got it at. :thumb:

The RL 250 was produced at the height of the mid seventies trials "boom" when all the Japanese manufacturers got involved. Like the Kawasaki KT there are still a few floating around, but far fewer then the Honda's, Yamaha's or even Spanish iron of the period. There are a few I compete with in vintage trials.
Most owners seem reasonably happy with them for reliability and overall performance. The engine characteristics are liked but the chasis has a very long feeling to it that many riders point to, which can be a liability in some tight events. Hard to fix, and the success of the Beamish frame kit for the bike back in the 70's points to the only real fix. If this isn't an issue for some, then it can be a viable pre-80 class twin shock ride. There is some aftermarket support for it and other bikes at places like B&J racing.
