Installs in just seconds and is available though any Yamaha dealer.
Part # ENG-HOURS-00-00

Retail price is $26.99.

Easy installation: Mount the computer anywhere on vehicle, comes with sticky velcro or you can use bolts. Wrap plug wire (with wire provided) four times and then zip-ty the ends of the wire off. Secure the wire in the channel of the computer. No batteries or power wires needed. Computer indicates hours in tenths and displays when the vehicle is running.

sounds good, I may just have to get one of those. It would help scheduling maintenance

So it tells you how many hours you have on your bike? did i read that right?

tells you how many hours the engine is running an excellent way for maintenance scheduling when you don't have an accurate way to measure miles.

Hours is a better judge of engine wear than miles anyway.

endosports,
Have you rode your bike with the hour unit? Did it stay in place? Did you feel the time the meter registered was correct?

Thanks,
Sawblade

This thing is very small and works perfect. With velco it didn't budge!

Endosports,

I posted this in the other thread in the Maintainance Forum, but thought I'd post it here as well so you'd see it:

In your other post you say that retail is like $27. Did you get yours for this? My local dealer wants $48, and all the net dealers want $37 and up. If this is the case, and it doesn't put you out, would you be willing to get one for me?

Thanks,
Andrew

My mistake retail is 37.-- for the meter. I was charged 27.-- the first one and I thinke the parts guys messed it up.

Sorry.

 Well, at least you got a good Deal! I just thought that everyone was trying to rip me off...turns out the only bad guy is my local dealer

Thanks anyway endosports, I'll probably get one in a week or two.

Later,
Andrew

Why will it only work on Yamahas? Sounds interesting, My Hondas have spark plugs so , can you think of a reason it would'nt work on it?

Posted by: Camstyn

It works on any bike. You have to buy it from Yamaha.

Can the clock be resetted? (I'm not sure if that is spelled right!)

Another less expensive alternative is a small tachometer/hour meter unit made by Sendec. These are available at power tool, power mower type stores. They are very small and easy to install on any bike.
