I saw this new Nutec race fuel on one of the other MX web sites. Has anyone used it, or know anything about it? They claim 2 - 3 hp gain on a stock bike.

i expect the Nutec fuel to be good, there are lots of reports suggesting this also. I think one way they are getting "good performance" is that they are running very volatile components which will aid the throttle response. i think, these fuels also have a high MTBE content which adds a bit of oomph when you twist the throttle, another additive is isoprene that is also responsible for performance.
however, who is making the HP claims, the maker or the magazine?
if its snake oil, its damm high octane snake oil. i am sure its good stuff, that said i will not pay the premium on this stuff, especially when they are paying Troy Lee to paint the can!

uuummmm. snake oil huh? did you know that the tribes in the rainforest use snake oil and a few other unknown ingredients to treat burns? I was watching this on Discovery Channel the other night, a pilot that was surveying the Rainforest after the cuban missle crisis went down and suffered burns to his whole left side, the local tribe treated his wounds before he was shipped back to the U.S. there the military burn center analyzed the treatment that was used as an ointment on his burns, the main ingredient was snake oil and it turned out to be almost identical to the chemicals that they used to treat severe burns. Kinda gives snake oil a better name for itself!

Nutec is a favorite of many dirt track racers. Hard to come by a few years back. They went through all sorts of trouble to keep it from the other racers, putting it unmarked cans, even running VP stickers on the bikes. I remember a chemist trying to analize the stuff said there were one or two substances he wasn't sure what they were. I'm sure by now it has been figured out. All I can say is it works. Kind of like crack. once you use it you're hooked. Now try and support the habbit.
