Anyone made a "home-made" tire changing stand or know of place to buy one cheap? Thinking of trying to make one myself but I do not want to "reinvent the wheel". If anyone has any ideas or pics, please post!!!

Thanks!

I use a simple 30 gallon trash can. If you want to protect the spokes slit an old garden hose and slip it over the lip.

I guess it depends on how much effort that you want to put into it. I have seen where an individual took a larger bucket, a long piece of all-thread, some rubber hose (for the edges of the bucket), and some concrete in the bucket (to provide ballast \ weight and support for the all thread). Mix it up, pour it in, and let it set. I havent done so yet, mainly because I dont need something else (that I dont use often) cluttering up what little storage space I have.

Wow, that motorcycle tire changer was cheap :-)
40 bucks for a work that get my knuckles/fingers to bleed and almost fall of. And hydralic too, faster to change tires on

I just change tires on a rubber mat on the floor. I use two tire irons and have no problems. I mostly use Michilen tires, maybe they are easier to mount. I know a friend of mine uses Bridgestone and has all kinds of problems. I've always felt that if you're using so much force that you need a stand to hold the tire, you're doing it wrong.
