Review of my new Maxxis I/T tire

I went for a long ride today in Southwick Ma and got to test out my new Maxxis.

So far I LOVE it. It hooks up much better then my old Dunlop. The problem with the soil in Southwick is that it changes quickly.

I spent some time riding through mud and the tire worked great.

It did very well in sand and hard pack too.

The tire hooked up so well I found the front tire coming up much more often and the bike accelerating more then I'm used to. It was to the point where it caught me off guard quite a few times.

Highly recommended.

That was my initial impression of the tire too. I think they have a winner. :thumb:

I rode with my new Maxis IT yesterday also. Had about the same impressions as you did, now the longevity testing begins. Sure was a stiff bugger to put on though!

Do you have the rear only or did you put an IT on the front also?

Not sure which one of us you are asking but I only had the rear. Still have my crappy stock front tire (did I mention it was a crappy stocker). I haven't decided what I am putting on the front. I sure do like my normal Mich M12's for the front and haven't seen much info or feedback on Maxis fronts!

Just sprung for the rear Maxxis I/T. It will be here mid-week. I'm funning a 739 on the front and a 756 on the back. I want get rid of the front for something that does a bit better in the deep sand, but I did not have the money as I'm replacing the clutch too.

Stock tire up front here too!

I have front and rear i/ts on my cr250, I agree that back tire is awesome, but I must say, I like the dunlop better on the front. the I/t has a "loose" feeling, esp in anything remotely soft. I might try their soft terrian tire next time, but I do not do that much mud wet riding, the dunlop just seemed to corner, handle and grip slightly better for some reason. But! The rear will kick a dunlops butt any day.

Eddie, try a 756 up front or the MT44 Pirelli(my current front). Every ding I have in my front rim came from when i ran the M12 up front. The carcass on the 756 and MT44 seem much more rock resistant.

Maxxis IT rear, one hellava tire. Put a new m12 up front with a maxxis IT rear,it was almost unstopable.Rode yesterday in all kinds of terrain in SC. Rock ledge root clay slime pits, wet sandy ooze.Tires built confidence up so bad i was trying to get stuck[finally did],AWSOME TIRE COMBO
