Only 9 more weeks!!!!!!!!!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: nikki

Wow can you believe it!!! Only 13 more short weeks until the kickoff of DW03!!!

Seems like just yesterday Red and I were driving home from OK, reflecting on one of the awesomest weeks of our lives, and counting down the 50 weeks until the next go around!!! Seemed so far away but now it's right around the corner!!

-13 more weeks
-91 more days
-one day short of 3 months
-63 more work days
-440 more work hours
-2,184 more hours
-131,040 more minutes
-7,862,400 more seconds...

1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand, 4 one thousand, 5 one thousand, 6 one thousand, 7 one thousand, 8 one thousand, 9 one thousand, 10 one thousand, 11 one thousand, 12 one thousand... man this is gonna take a little time!!

I think I'm gonna make a countdown chain with 91 links... take one off each day until DW03!

So... who's ready???

I'm ready! Come DW, I'll be "readier". The question is, will PK be ready?

Posted by: Danman

Wow, so soon. I need more time to save some dough or win the Lotto

Posted by: blackhawk468

I can't wait!

I still have to register tho, waiting till I have the extra cash-money!

Posted by: Dapper

I've waiting for this week my whole life, well maybe since I found out about it. I'm so excited I can't eat (ya right). Can't wait to meet the people I've been chatting with and as many people as I can. Hope I don't embarrass myself with my nonskillful riding. :o

Posted by: Philip

wow quit teasing!!

Posted by: rv6junkie

I thought that I was the ONLY one that was counting the days. I said to my family this weekend "hey guys, only 90-days..." and they looked at me like "90-days...that's FOREVER"

Posted by: MrLuckey

Mighty Dapper Danny - ride around with me, that way we'll never know for sure which one of us everyone is laughing at

Posted by: Tony Eeds

Wow nikki ... Now that you say it that way, it seems like it is really just around the corner.

Whoo Hooo, I am sooooo ready. I only have one goal this year ... to not break any bones. It is bound to be more fun on two feet.

Posted by: Okiewan

A little info...
Planning is in full swing as of today... somehow, some way, we're going to make this one the best yet. The real question is; how many are going to miss it? A week of dirtbike nirvana?

We're putting together a killer list of events... even more for the woods riders this year! This is Moto-Heaven folks. A vacation to beat all vacations. New friends, old friends & family... riders from all over the world coming together in one place, for a week of "the way it should be". Like the banner says "Fast or Slow, Woods or MX"... this is it; it doesn't get any better.

I'm pumped!

Hi, we're from Houston, thinking of attending, curious if you bring along pit bikes and also if you or anyone else brings their harleys to ride a little after RIDING!!
Loved your pics, hope to see ya there!
dan and mynde (and tommy and chelsey!)

Posted by: rv6junkie

Pit bikes are encouraged! In fact there is a pit bike RACE on Wednesday. I hope my son doesn't mind that his XR70 is becoming a pit bike that evening.

Posted by: GETMETOCA

I was just looking at the Vacation Calendar at work yesterday, making sure no one was interfering with my vacation! Since I put it on the Calendar last December, I don't know why I worried

Can't wait!

Posted by: XR3J

I am pumped after last year. Can't imagine a better way to spend a week!

If I had a Harley I'd bring it. The road in and out of Cooperland is a dirt / gravel road but after that there's plenty of paved scenery to cruise on. Of coarse the Harley rallies I've been too there was really no need for pavement, just a wheenie and a string.

Been wanting to reply to this thread for the past few days and say...

Hell yeah...I'm pumped!! Can't wait!!

FYI, it's customary for folks to swap rides. Last year, for example, I got to ride a 426. Can you believe I'd never ridden one before? I must have been the last dude on the planet to swing a leg over one. Come to think of it, I've never ridden a Harley, either... :thumb:

I would like to take a ride on a CRF...... Is there a sign up sheet anywhere

I bet it would be a rush to take a Harley over the big step up

Does this mean I have to get a bigger trailer? I thought I'd leave the Harley at home. Though you got my interest up there Jeff.

Yeah, come see me.  There is a little initiation ritual though... :o

Posted by: nikki

Updated to 12 weeks!!! Harley over the step-up... sounds cool! Someone bring a video camera!

Damn... I reinjured my shoulder this past weekend at Red Bud... guess I got 12 weeks to heal up.

Posted by: Green Horn

Sorry 'bout the shoulder Nikki. Hopefully it's healed up in time for DW. If not, you can always ride with us slow people.

I want to try everyone's bike. Everyone please be sure and bring your bike by my campsite. I'll coordinate times so that I can work everyone in. I'll have a pretty busy schedule with all the bikes that'll be there so please understand that the time I schedule you for should be priority in your daily events.

9 weeks to go

Posted by: Jeff Gilbert

Anyone know if the track has undergone any changes since we were there last year?

Posted by: WaltCMoto

The countdown is on the calender, now I gotta get in some long practice sessions, so I dont get totally exausted by Saturday!

Posted by: Dapper

Man the time is flying by. Still have stuff to get ready and I know I'll forget something. I don't like waiting for the last minute. Started making my list in March. Does anyone have something that they didn't bring that they wished they had?

5 more gallons of gas

Posted by: GETMETOCA

I am getting really excited now! Farmer John has offered to haul my bike out to Oklahoma - is he awesome or what????

Jeff, do you still have that spare tent? I can make other arrangements if you don't.

I'm going to enter the night time poker run this year because I am actually entering a REAL night time (24 hour GP) race a few weeks after Dirtweek. I figure if I'm going to have a rough time out in the woods, I might as well get it out of my system at dirtweek. I just hope I don't run into any spiders or armadillos if I crash and my headlight shuts down after I kill the engine.

Beware of Milkie moons ....

Natalie: I am bringing a big tent for my daughter, she doesn't like bugs .... You are welcome to share it with her. She will not even be there until Thursday.

I sure do but it's sounds like you have that part covered even if I didn't.
You're welcome to it, I think it's an 8 person tent. Perhaps you can hook them all together and build one large tent.

I'll have that one and a smaller tent available if anyone else needs to use.

Yeah, and if the spiders get in I can charge a fee for everyone to see the haunted house :scream:

THANKS YOU GUYS!!

Posted by: Farmer John

Is it time to leave yet?

Man, I'm so jazzed about going this year! It appears there will be a fairly large NorCal contingent.

In the words of Flounder, "this is gonna be great!"

Posted by: dead

6 weeks.. dun dun dunnnn!

Posted by: Philip

I'm soooo excited I already started packing!!!

Posted by: Weld it

I'm not counting the weeks - it's down to days for me, 42 to go........

Posted by: dead

My roommate thinks I'm hording stuff to move out

Posted by: Farmer John

5 weeks.....so close, yet so far.

I have all the stuff for my trucks next service (w/e before DW) in the garage ready & waiting.
Coolers are all cleaned & ready.
Tent is ready.

I gotta go by the shop & pick up a case of inner tubes.....
premix....

Is it time to go yet???

Posted by: Timr

I've started a list and started gathering things.  I can't do bike prep until after I race this weekend.

I have a bunch of stuff staged too. Started working on the bike so it will be ready. Got new tires, top end, brakes, and need to get everything greased. I am fired up and ready to go........The 5 weeks will prolly pass quickly except for the last few days before its time to go

Posted by: GETMETOCA

I'm getting totally into the planning part now!!

I'll have the bike all greased and prepped, maybe new number plates, mine are currently looking very shredded.  I'm making all my lists and then trying to separate out stuff I can pick up at Walmart in Stillwater once I get there.  Coolers, propane, chairs....etc.

I'm still trying to figure out just how much room Farmer John has for me to bring stuff in addition to my bike.....not sure if he knows that someone like me actually does try to bring the kitchen sink

Been perusing the airlines for flight times into OKC - hey is anyone doing a airport shuttle?  I could use a lift but only if it is not inconvenient.

Yep, started my Dirtweek "pile" too, hehe!

At this point in time, it looks like you have 1/2 of a full sized long bed truck. :thumb:
