Terrorizing Tahuya
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well it looks like Firecracker is going to be crossing the mountains to spend the day as a bridesmaid this Saturday, July12. Which leaves Sunday free to ride with my Wet Side buddies whom I haven't seen in ages. We're heading to Belfair on Sunday--don't know the when/where to meet stuff yet. So far, Dirty~D and Splatt are in. Anyone else care to laugh at me with them?

sounds like a good time but I've already made plans! I'll be up in your kneck of the woods so when you see a big black truck with an orange ripping machine in the bed pass by you on the highway give a honk, that's me and some bro's.

I was just at Tahuya on Monday, and conditions were BAD. It was VERY slick out there. It was hard to get traction with all the golfball and baseball sized rocks covering the trail. IMO, until it rains, it's not even worth the drive out there to ride. Just a heads up on the conditions! Have fun! I'll be watching the MX races in Monroe.

Jeremy,
"Watching MX races", man, never thought I'd see the day you'd be watching mx races versus riding on your day off, what gives?
Posted by: Hondaxrguy
Ochster was hired by a local pro to wrench for him while competing in the local series. I'm going to hang out with him in the pits, and watch some good racing. I still have monday to ride.

I glad I have someone to ride with as my brother in law bailed yet again.

Jeremy,
You want to talk about a good pit experience. My bro who films for FOX and that's making the next Terrafirma 8 film said he can get me a pit pass at the Washugal AMA Nationals at the end of the month. I get to go check out the riders bikes and chill with him while he films. Can you say "Ripping" day!

Where/how/when do you want to meet up? Since Sharla is driving all the way over from Spookieland, I'm going to do the driving from my house to Tahuya (unless she wants to drive) so keep an eye out for a 2wd green Toyota Tacoma with two biker chicks in it.

Jer ,
What trails did you ride?
Posted by: Hondaxrguy
Tahuya river to the horse camp, then Howel lake to the "loop", then back on sims. I need to have you show me how to get to the single track we rode before. That's the stuff I like!

Jer,
check out tommy, deralliure and bus stop, there is single track that returns from the gravel pit on sand hill road and a single track that cuts right off the overland after you hit the y at mission junction. These should not be real dusty yet.

I desperately need to ride this weekend and all my riding partners are injured or out of the area. And I hate riding alone. So I might show up if you could stand one more.
I missed riding last weekend as I had to work around the place to keep the misses happy. So I'm ready to go somewhere.
I haven't been to Tahuya since early April for the Sparkplug Enduro.
Have you decided on time, location, etc.?
Posted by: splatt
Hey D
Hows 9:30/10:00 at the Safeway there in Belfair. KNeese its cool with me if you want to tag along.
Steve

If it rains, I may tag along as well.

OK, I might just show up. I drive a blue Ford F250 single cab, two wheel drive with an '02 250 EXC with 143 on the number plates.
Posted by: fishhead
If we get a little rain I'll be there early like 6:00 6:30 at elfendahl
Posted by: Hondaxrguy
Fish, that's probably too early for my blood! It looks like I'll be heading out there. I drive a blue ranger with a kx250 #44 in the back.
Jeremy

I think I will shoot for 6:30 at Elfendahl to hook up with you Fishhead if thats OK. Sorry Splatt and Firecracker.
Posted by: fishhead
sorry I flaked, I didn't get your message Ken and it was looking pretty dry at my place at 4:45 so I bagged it for another 40 winks. I'd like to hook up with you though, I'm eqidistant from Capitol forest, Reiter, Tahuya, and Taneun and Naches via the Naches trail.
Posted by: KNeese
No problem. I posted pretty late last night so I wondered if you would get it. It was pretty damp here but as I got closer to Tahuya it dried out so it looked like it didn't get much water.
I didn't get to Elfendahl until 7:00 so I was running late. I didn't want to hang out for 2-3 hours for the others so I hit another riding spot or 2 on the way back to see if anyone I knew was there. But no luck. I came home and took a nap.
Yeah lets hook up sometime for a ride. Any plans next weekend?
I am on vacation for 2 weeks so I'm pretty much open. I would like to do Little Naches if you know the area well. I've only ridden the Poker Runs and enduros over there so I don't know my way around.
I was born and raised in Capitol Forest so I know that area the best. I also know my way around Gifford Pinchot fairly well at least around Blue Lake, Bishop Ridge, etc.
Or Tahuya works good for me too. Judging from earlier posts you seem like you know the area very well so that works for me too.
Take it easy.

Want to get together for a Monday ride? I'd like to hit up Gifford Pinchot, and Naches or Taneum I'm always game for. Tahuya really didn't get much rain at all. The trails were all bone dry except after it sprinkled for a couple mins.
D, Sharla, Steve,
Great riding with you. We need to get together more than once a year
Sharla, Erin and I may be going to Idaho in September. If we do, I should be able to ride Sunday with your group over there. I'll keep ya posted on that.

Jeremy,
A Monday ride would be great. How about next Monday, July 20? We could meet in Randle someplace then head on up to GP for some riding.
Whats your time frame. I could be in Randle around 8:00am without too much trouble. Then we can head up from there.
Any particular trails you want to ride? I typically park on Road 23 then hit that trail that parallels the road. Then I go up Bishop Ridge Trail, then over to Blue Lake, then up to Mouse Lake or Mud Lake then over by Cat Creek Campground then back along the trail that parallels Road 23 to camp. I forget how long a loop it is.
Posted by: Hondaxrguy
Sounds good to me. I've never been to GP, so I don't know any of the trails. Monday would be the 21st. As far as distance goes, I'm up for a good long ride if you are. Why don't you E-Mail me at hondaxrguy@hotmail.com so we don't clog up this thread.

Great riding with everybody even though we didn't put in that many miles. The BS-ing is half the fun anyway. You all definitely need to come to MY side of the state sometime. Let me know a couple of weekends in advance whenever anyone feels like coming over, so I can make sure I don't have anything else going on.

anyone going to the sparkplug enduro in Belfair? should be fun
Posted by: little jeff
Firecracker, There's a good possibility that I might show up. It'll probably pretty dry that time of the year. Belfair holds water like no other place I've ridden. I'll probably see you before then at Taenum.

Uh jeff you might want to take a look at some of the post dates it's almost two years old.

Victor Falls I believe is off limits to motorcycles but check out http://nmaoffroad.org/ they should have most all of the major riding spots in the state.
