Dial-A-Jet

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried a Dial-A-Jet on their bike. I realize that there is no replacement for proper jetting, and I'm not looking at the Dial-A-Jet to alltogether replace the need to jet the bike. I'm just looking at it as a possible add on that would allow jetting on the ragged edge of lean, without too much fear of getting too lean over the course of a ride...blah, blah, blah. The possibility of better throttle response is attractive too.

Anyway, anyone have experience with one, in addition to good jetting?

Regards,
Lutz

Take a look at this thread, it covers the subject very well.

two completey different things;

one is a complete carburator while the dial a jet is nothing more than an add on delivery circuit http://www.mxsouth.com/dial/tpidj.htm

I have been contemplating getting one of these because I am too lazy to want to properly jet my bike for the different worlds it lives in. I like the idea but with no real basis behind my likings

I would/will/have used oxygenated fuel at close to sea level for sand riding<for more power/hit> and then use non oxygenated fuel up in the hills for trail riding<more throttle control >. I dont believe it will help enough for me , its claimed improvements are only for 1/2 throttle on up, when I still need to make fairly radical changes to the pilot and needle for the idle to 1/2 throttle. I thought why bother spending the money to avoid jetting while still having to tear apart the carb to fix the other circuits it doesn't help.

that is only my two cents on why I didn't buy/try it.
