I am buying a new tire and I saw a Maxxis C6001 in there for 35 bucks 100/100-18. has anyone tried this tire?

My friend has a Maxxis Soft/Inter. 100/100-18 Rear tire on his 99 YZ-125, and I'll tell you exactly what i think....
When you want to ride Dirt, Thats the tire for you.(Especially If you want to roost.)
But i'll tell you what, If your planning on riding that on the Pavement at all, It Tears up Really quick.

k thanks, i think ill go 4 it, i dont ride on the street anyways

Personally, I run Dunlop 100/100-18 Inter. Tires, and Ive had them since 2001(Riding on the Pavement quite a bit). Im thinking about buying a new Rear Dunlop, But I dont need it yet...
Anyways, What kind of bike do you have?

I put the 6001 on my XR 600 and I had it back off in less than 20 miles. That was the squirreliest tire I ever had. It's still up in the rafters of the garage.

What tire would you suggest then?

The 6001 was the best tire I ever used on the XR600! I even dual sported the tire.

You have to remember that the Maxxis tires run a bit narrow for their size. So expect that and go wider if you have the height room.

we run them here front and rear. Traction is great in everything from sand to mud. They do not chunk or have knobs fall off like the Dunlops and Michellins. Wear is better than the 773 dunlops easily. For an all around intermediate tire IMHO it cannot be beat for the price

"They do not chunk or have knobs fall off like the Dunlops and Michellins. Wear is better than the 773 dunlops easily. "

My Dunlop 100/100-18 Sport has Weared evenly, from running Dirt,Mud,Sand, and Even pavement, The knobs do not fall off...

I imagine it would last awhile, it seems more like a dual sport tire than a real dirt tire. On slick hard pack or deep mud it doesn't compare to a Dunlop 752 or 756 IMHO.
