Dang Bundy, if it was an EXC, it would have a new home in KY!

Posted by: CR Swade

Corey, that has the six speed (same as EXC) and an 18" hoop in back, plus EXC tank...my friend what are you waiting for? It is a TR 450 kit away from perfection. Oh and the forks on the SX, those bad boys are the 03 wonder forks everybody wants.

Posted by: CAL

Yeah, but no E-start.  And the suspension is setup too heavy for me.  I'd have to shell out the bucks for the 450 kit and suspender work.  Not sure I can swing that.  I may be trading my 250 for an '03 CRF450.  Maybe Bundy would work some kind of trade for a second Honda?

Cal,

You dont need the e-start bro! You can sneeze in the general direction of the kickstarter and she fires right up! Plus its about 15lbs lighter to boot!
As for the suspension, for what its worth, I still have the stock springs plus an 8.8 straight rate rear spring.

I don't know?  I'd have to ride it to see what the susp. felt like.  After riding Chris's 400 EXC with the TR 450 kit, I've been pretty set on an EXC.  Ever since I put the W.E.R. susp. on my YZF I've been real picky about suspension.

I'm 195 pounds without gear.  And a much slower rider than you.  How plush is the valving?  I need suspension that will soak up roots and rocks.

I know it's an awesome bike!   (It blew by me on the grass track at DW '02!!!)  And I'm very comfortable about buying a bike from you.  It's just the SX part of it that scares me.  How close to Western KY will you be, when you're coming to Alabama?

Let me get this deal with the trade for the CRF450 squared away.  Not sure if I'm going to keep it or sell it.

Hey Corey, according to a couple of tuners, the forks from the 03 EXC and the SXS 02 forks are identical. Before I found the 02 EXC, I was purposefully looking for an 02 SX400. First for the forks, second for the availability of the TR kit to make it a 450 (which really runs better than the KTM 450).

It just so happened that this 02 had been revalved plush style and everything on it I was looking for. Now as far as that electric start...well you see what happened to me @ DW this year (although it is nice on the trail).

I don't doubt that they are great forks, and the same forks, but the valving is different between SX and EXC.  I need soooft.  Eddie's '02 400SX stock suspension is way too rigid for me.

I'd have to ride it and see what it felt like.   The weight difference from an EXC is a plus for me, but the suspenders worry me....

Its nothing that the Fab-Tech kit wouldn't cure. :thumb:

Any pics?

Cal:

If you were to buy it, I got 400 bucks on the black wheels for you...that would probably help with the $$$ you would need to shell out for the 450 kit.

Christopher

Cal you rode Christophers bike. If I remember right that thing has some series springs in it. How did you like the way it rode? :flame:

I'll have to think about that.  Them black wheels are purdy!

Pat...that's been running through my mind.  Chris thought I would hate the susp., but I loved it.  It was better than the W.E.R. susp. on my 426.

I don't know what to do.  I'd hate to let that thing go.  But I don't know if I can commit without riding it.

OH yeah...and I've got 3 bikes to sell!!

Hey Bundy, you sure you don't want to trade the KTM for another CRF450?  I have one scheduled for delivery Nov. 4th!

Corey, man you have got to pull the trigger. Word has it from my fellow I bought the bike from (a 02 from Ohio that had an exuberant Kentuckian trying to snake my ride away from me with a deposit  )

Yeah he sent me a meeting confirmation before we left Saturday for Crawfordsville saying he had quite a bit of activity, including a guy from Kentucky that was really ready. I said yeah, ol' Corey is ate up w/ the KTM450 goofball. Anyway, Bundy's bike sounds so worth it...ps I'll let you ride mine next time we see ya.

BTW, elctric start can be added, but that TR kit is really what you need.

You pecker!  That was you picking it up at the Ironman!!???  Man...snatched it right out of my fingers!    That's a saweeet bike!  Very similar to Bundy's!

My gun is cocked.  Can't pull the trigger until I hear from Bundy.  He hasn't replied to me emails.

Anyone have Bundy's phone #?

BTW...I've never had so many other people interested in me buying a bike, in my life!!  Wade keeps posting, Randy is sending me PMs, and Chris is calling me!!     It's hilarious!

PECKER?! Man that hurts...I guess I can send you some pictures for wishful thinkin'. W exception to the TR kit, stabilizer (know where there are some more...heck maybe Bundy has some extras) and button Bundy's bike is about the same. I can say this EE does some nice fork work...in your words soooft.

DITTO THAT!!!!

Posted by: CAL

Consider this bike SOLD!  I'm either buying it or trading for it.  Either way, it's coming to KY!

Posted by: kc-husky

Well it's about time, LOL...

Hey Corey, figure I better chime in here too, I'm about the only one from Kansas City that you HAVEN'T heard from on this deal..hehe

I think you will like the Katoom, with or with out the button. I figure if we can figure out these 426's to start up against 2smokers on the line, then the button is just an added bonus! Good luck, I know Bundy will treat you right!

I'm hoping to be orange before the end of the year too

Hey Corey, you suuure you wouldn't rather have Bundy's other bike, the one in our garage? It's more uhhh, economical I think. Feel free to use our place as an exchange/drop off point if you want.

Ha!  I think I'll be pretty pleased with this one.

I have a feeling we may take you up on the offer of an exchange point.

What in the world would I do without my DRN family???

I am interested in the wheels. E-mail me @spud317@hotmail.com

Wow, this is really working out well.  The guy that installed Chris's 450 kit (Travis from Trackside Moto) just happens to live 90 miles from Bundy.  They're meeting half way, and Travis is installing the 450 kit next week.  Travis is also a GPR dealer and is slapping a brand new GPR stabilizer on the bike while he has it.  And Bundy is coming out here to ride at LBL on Nov. 15 and delivering the bike...to my door.  Bundy was also going to build the suspension for my weight, but I had to hold out for now.  Now that's service!!!

Is the bike still forsale?
Its hard to tell if its been parted out or what...
Thanks

Posted by: CAL

The bike is sold.  I am the new owner.
