Well, I finally got a chance to ride the Mamba. Wow. It was better than I expected. I figured it would beat me to death on the trails. Nope. I figured the power would be too much. Nope, was pretty smooth. I couldn't ask for a more perfect bike.

The first ride was great up until I did a dirt track powerslide into a tree, was raining and trail was covered in leaves. The skid plate came up and destroyed the water pump cover. All the bolts are bent and the top bolt busted out of the side case. That'll be no biggie to weld and retap. Luckly it happened 5 miles from the truck. Still had a great day of riding.

Pics of the carnage soon.

Sounds like a fun maiden voyage.

Congrats on the mamba

Dead, that sounds better than my first experience!  I went over the bars twice.  The suspension was setup for Okie   so it pretty much beat me up.  The power was SOOOOO different than a KDX that I was overwhelmed.  Once I geared it down, put the bark busters on and changed the tires I was pretty happy with it.   Glad you like it and hope you get the repairs done quickly so you can get us another report.

BTW, I still have the stock 'glide plate' if you want it.  You'll have to send me your address again so I can ship it to you.

Opps I think that swift had the suspension set up for him and you two looked about the same size. Sorry to hear about the skid plate and water pump cover.

No such thing as a free or cheap bike

Glad you like it dead, it's sort of a DRN tradition that the Mamba finds itself the right home :thumb:

The right home? I'm thinking someone needs to call PETD (People for the Ethical Treatment of Dirtbikes) on dead. LOL Actually it appears that you're enjoying the heck out of your new ride. Congrats!!

Hey now! I tooth brushed it after I broke it. It's all good

Hey Dead;
Sorry to hear about the broken parts. Get her all fixed so we can do the team HS together again next year.
Best of luck

Kevin,

Let me know when you get the Mamba repaired.  It's about time we do some more riding together and you know i'll let you ride my bike.
