Swap meet

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: pinball

I was going through my gear getting ready for Reno and realized that I`ve got a lot of stuff I don`t use anymore and now that I `ve gone from KTM to Honda, my old gear just won`t do . I was wondering if you all or some would be interested in having a swap meet on one of the mornings. Nothing fancy, just bring the extra stuff and set it out . Heck, we might even bring down an old Ossa trials bike to flog. Just a thought.

Great idea!  I've got some spare parts and old gear that I'd be willing to part with cheap and/or trade.

Posted by: Strick

I too think that is a great idea. I'll load the motorhome up with some 'extras' for sale, trade, or donation.

Posted by: firecracker22

I'm in, though I'm not sure if I have anything truly of interest.

I'm in .... will have tons-o-stuff.

Great idea, Strick! - RandyB

Posted by: Strick

Are you and I on the same page here Randy? I think we are, but don't tell you-know-who!

Posted by: E-Ticket

Bump. <grin>

Posted by: KiwiBird

Sounds good.

Posted by: thumbs

I got all kinds of crap, umm, err I mean stuff I can bring.

Posted by: bsmith

Great Idea!

Posted by: galant2nr

I don't have much stuff, so I guess I will just bring $$$$...

Posted by: Kokanee

I thought as this ride gets closer people could post requests for what they need, so some of us can narrow down what we are going to bring to the swap meet. I have been riding for over 20 years and it's amazing the amount of stuff that you can accumulate in that time. For instance, I am looking for an aftermarket exhaust system for my wifes Kawasaki Mojave quad. Any mojave parts would be good. I have a lot of Honda parts due to my years on CR500s so I have a lot of parts. Any ideas to narrow down the amount of stuff we bring would be good.

Posted by: Kokanee

I also have an Ossa MAR in very good condition I would like to sell. If there is any interest I will fit it into the trailer.

Posted by: E-Ticket

Partial listing of my cool, "new/worthy" For-Sale items that I will be bringing (will also have a "box-o-stuff"):

= Ron Wallace Racing front fork brace for Honda XR400 (brand new)
= Flatland Racing radiator guards for KTM RFSs (brand new)
= Scott's Stainless Steel Oil Filters for KTM RFSs (used for 3 oil changes)
= KTM 50T rear sprocket (brand new)
= Acerbis Front NumberPlate Gas Tank (brand new)
= BBR exhaust pipe/silencer for Honda XR200 (used)
= Renthal Handlebars and top triple clamp for Honda CR80R/Honda
= Acerbis Rally Guards (used)

Hey Strick, maybe we can choose a time on Saturday morning to hold our little "garage sale" to make it easier for people to cruise? Just a thought....

Cheers! - RandyB

I have a virtually new rear 19" rim and complete spoke/nipple set from a '99 CR250 Honda. No hub. Rim and spokes may fit other years. Excellent condition - almost no use. Nice starting point for building a spare wheel, or replacing a damaged one.

Posted by: MrLuckey

Aimee is bringing a brand new Bell Moto 7 Chiodi replica, medium I believe.

Posted by: gospeedracer

I'm bringing a new (never used) Bell MOTO 7, Chiodi Replica helmet, size 7 3/8 I believe. It's just like the attached picture

I may also bring pair of fox boots size 8 and a set of the women's rage gear. I've only worn it a few times and unfortunately it's to small for me now.

I'll for sure have the helmet but the rest will be dependent on how much I can get in my gear bag since I'm flying in.

Randy - what color(s) and do they fit ProTapers or 7/8" bars?

Brian

I am looking for some clean riding gear in good shape, sizes 32 pant and L jersey. Cargo/baggy style moto pants are preferred. Keith has been riding in jeans and an old cotton Fox jersey of mine, but he has decent boots and a helmet. Also a good used chest protector would be of interest.

I will have:
1 pair of MSR System'X' boots size mens 6. worn once by lady we bought the wife's TTR125 from. Like new condition. she decided dirt biking wasn't her style after one (short) ride and one fall.

'85 honda Fat Cat (fat tire motor cycle). Excellent factory original condition. Still has original tires/graphics! 200cc/auto clutch/5sp :thumb:

Posted by: gospeedracer

Hey FC, I have a Thor Aftershock CP (clear and black) that I used a few times before I got the woman's Acerbis CP. Eddie used it for a while but then he won a new CP at Dirt Week. I haven't looked at it recently but I'm fairly certain it is in good condition. If you're interested I can try and find a way to bring it. I can take a pic of it too if you'd like.

How much you gonna want for that beast? That would make a great pit bike for Sand Mountain.

Psstt.... Fox makes an Airframe and Thor makes an Aftershock.... unless you have a hybrid CP like my Thor Force/Fox Airframe frankentector.

We have a clear/black Thor Aftershock (gently roosted with Cooperland red mud) and a blue/yellow/grey Thor SVR helmet (Med) that is for sale - but are bulky and will only be at Reno if someone expresses an interest before hand. $40 for the CP and $75 for the helmet. Photos available.

FREE TIRES

Started going through my swap meet stuff, and wanted to know if anyone is interested in some free used tires? If not, they stay home.

I have three Dunlop 756 rear tires, 110/100/18. The center knobs on two of these are approx. 0.35", the third is more worn, about 0.25 - 0.3". FWIW, a brand new 756 has center knobs about 0.6".

Also have a front Michelin S12, 90/90/21. This tire has plenty of wear left, but has some chunked side knobs. It's been sitting in a shed for a few years, but should work fine.

Speak up by Thursday Feb. 12 if anyone wants me to bring these tires.

Posted by: firecracker22

I'd be interested in the tires--the DT has some pretty crappy rubber on it. In fact, if we could put them right on in Reno, I'd be willing to pay in booze or a few bucks to anyone who will help me do it!! I found out the hard way that I am not talented at changing tires myself.

Also, either of the CPs sound good--Aimee, how much for yours? No sense in both you and Nikki bringing one unless you were anyway for other people to look at.

The tires are yours, FC22. I should be arriving Fri. by 1:00 pm.

Posted by: firecracker22

Awesome!! Thanks.

I just pulled the OEM tires off my CR250. Just a few hours on them, enough to round off the leading edges of the knobs on the rear Dunlop 695 (110-19"). Front 490 is perfect. Prices negotiable, probably dinner in town.

I've got another 490F in good condition. If you are really hard up for rubber, I've got a old but little-used Pirelli MT16, a more worn 490F and well-worn 695s (100-18" and 110-19"). They beat thrashing your good tires on the summer hardpack, and they're free.

KDX200 parts (95-and-up): pipe and silencer; green rear fender; green front fender; reed cage. Like new OEM take-offs, break-in ride only.

Then there's the KTM 440 EXC, the bike that would be King of the Drag Hill. Far less ratty than Farmer John's old ride.

I won't bring anything unless someone wants it. I'm arriving Friday.

Let's see..... Here's what I'm bringing so far:

CEET FK006 Foam - Std height for Kawasaki '88-'89 125/250 and '88-'04 500

CEET FK007 Foam - Tall height for Kawasaki '88-'89 125/250 and '88-'04 500

IMS YZ4XX seat foam/cover - it's from the conversion seat/tank on my WR. Should fit '98-'02 YZ400/426 and '01-'02 YZ250F

Dunlop K490 front tire - Brand New

Dunlop K990 110/100-18 - Brand New

FOX Classic Off-road pants - Blue Size 40

'90 KX500 - CA DMV paperwork has been started for dual sport conversion. I have a BD dual sport kit for it but it's not installed.

Prices are negotiable.

Brian
