Colored Rims

I'm about to purchase an extra set of wheels for my '04 CRF450. I really like the appearance of black rims, but am concerned about how well they will hold up. I'm aware that they scratch from tire changes, rocks, etc..., but I'm looking for feedback from others who have personally owned a set of colored rims.
Would you purchase them again, or prefer to stay with the traditional silver due to scratching easily?
Also, anyone have an opinion of East Coast Wheelsets? They come with Excel rims, Buchanan spokes, and billet aluminum hubs. I've seen a set close up, and the hubs look impressive. Also, they come with a lifetime warranty.
Any comments??
