How many 4 stroke woods riders do "which" modifications. I did just a gears and uped the idle. Did the BK mod as well. Brutus is a Brute!

None here!! I just bought a bike made for the woods.

I have a KTM 450exc but the stock suspension was to harsh even for my 200lbs
I dont think there is any model that comes with suspension good enough to be competitive with.

Valved my shock, that's it on the VOR. Changed to a heavier springs on the Gasser.

suspension and power are great on my bike, all I did is put a 52 tooth sprocket on and various protection devices.

I did the gearing and flywheel. Hope to do the suspension sometime but can live with it for now.

Did the BK mod make much of a difference and what all is it suppose to do? Thanks!

I've never weighted my flywheels. I like the snap of the 4st MX bikes. But gearing is the first thing that gets changed, then the suspension. I'm revlaving my forks right now.

I'll have to add this: I had never set my suspension up for my riding until my last bike. I bought a set of forks/shock for my YZ426 that was built by W.E.R. I could not believe the difference!! Suspension work is not cheap, but it honestly is worth every penny. My first ride with the W.E.R. susp...I thought my bike was bogging down. In reality, it WAS! It was getting so much more traction, that the engine was turning less rpm.

I'm giving Fabtech a try on my KTM. We'll see how well they do as soon as it gets above freezing here.

No, I just buy a KTM E/XC and install handguards and skid plate.

Besides adding a quick-change BBR spark arrestor and a carbon fiber skid plate, I don't change a thing on my 04 CRF 450 from my outdoor MX setup. Since I'm standing for 90% of the time I'm in the woods, I don't even like to turn the clickers. If I need smoother power for roots and rocks, I just lug it a gear high and everything is ice cream. For me, the woods are just a 60-mile MX with no jumps.

I ahve a crf450 and added an 11 oz flywheel and a JD Jetting kit. Incredible difference for woods riding!!

I might be a little out of the loop up here in canada, so what is the BK mod ??

Posted by: Detonator

It's a carb mod, if I'm not mistaken. Something to do with the accelerator pump. Try a search in the mod forum.
