Directions To Moonrocks

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I-80 East to the Pyramid Highway (Route 445)/ Pyramid Way exit, which is immediately beyond the Sparks Nugget. Get off at that exit turning left at the bottom heading now North on Route 445 through Sparks. 16-20 miles to Winnemucca Ranch Road - turn left. You will travel about 4.5 miles on pavement and 1.5 miles on dirt then turn left at the Moonrocks/Hungry Valley (small sign) just past the fenced pasture. One more mile and you are at the pit/staging area.

I thought it was a left turn at the haystack
There's a sign up now?

Strick - tried to e-mail this but all I have is an old addy. You mentioned that you might have room for some hitchhikers, but are you planning to be in the Peppermill parking lot Fri. morning?

I can MAKE plans. I just need to co-ordinate the Peppermill shuttle with opening the storage facility, that's all.

Whatever you need Eddie.............whatever you need :thumb:

We're working on details right now via e-mail. A few people that offered rides forget that they are skiing Friday instead, and a couple that needed rides are also skiing. I'll give you a shout if we need assistance but I think we'll be good to go.

Strick-One last thing (promise!). I'll call you when we get to the Pmill and check in, about 4-6pm Thursday evening, then we can drop the trailer at storage and be out of your hair until we leave Monday morning.

What I had in mind was leaving the trailer and all the bikes at Moonrocks with the tongue of the trailer locked, and all the bikes locked to the trailer rails. That will save mucho time putting bikes up each night, dropping off at storage, etc. On Sunday, we'll load up and drop at storage, pick up first thing Monday and head east! Sound like a plan?

Oh, the locks for the bikes at Moonrocks is to keep those waskally Canadians from hookin' up to their blender while we're at the Casino!

Storage

From Peppermill:

South on Virginia St. under the freeway you will need to enter the left hand turn lanes and turn left onto McCarran. Proceed East to Longley (3rd light) and turn right. Then turn right on Barron (no light-right turn only)(3510 Barron - Paul's Plumbing) go inside and see Ric(before 5pm on Friday), otherwise you have to contact me at all other times, and all other days(775-771-8850).

I normally am at the storage unit from 5pm-5:30pm to store bikes daily. I then open up the unit at 8:30am - 9:00 am on Sat, Sun, Mon.
