I bought my bike from an AA rider/former district champ, and it had an eline on it. The bike had seen more than a few tough races and rides.

Yes, it has a regulator. Mine is attached to the upper triple clamp. Power output is 2 x 100 watts. If your bike has no lighting now, you are going to need to figure out what you want to do with the power. Mine has hot grips (low & high settings) off one power lead, and the other powers the headlight (high & low beam) and taillight/brakelight.

On my CR, I can use the stock shifter. Eline should be able to tell you if you need an extension/different shifter.

The magnet weighs approx. 12 ounces and the nut is another 2+- ounces. But the magnet is uniform in thickness so it probably adds less flywheel effect than a slightly lighter flywheel weight around the perimeter of the flywheel. It has been explained to me the electrical fields as the magnet passes over the electrics really smooth the power out. Not sure of the science, but this is absolutely the case on my bike - it really hooks up. Great for nasty stuff.

Overall, the system is expensive and adds weight, but it works great. Not sure I would spend my own $$ on one, but I am awfully glad the bike had one on it when I got it used.
