I'm more concerned with strength and protection than appearance and weight....
Info I'd like your input on from any types you've had experience with:
Thickness
material
fit
function
Price
place to buy
and any other info you think may be relevant.
thanks

I have tried E-line's carbon fiber gaurd and Maier's aluminum guard. E-line has by far held up to more abuse than the Maier's. The Maier's will still dent the pipe if something hits it hard enuff. Whether or not it lessens the damage done, I have no idea. Small ding protection is good though.
The E-line pretty much stops all dings and dents but does not protect from bending. I don't know whats easier to fix so no comment there. I have a dingless PC pipe but its been bent so that it doesn't mount up flush to the engine. It leaks now so I had to take it off.
The E-line is almost 3 times more expensive though so unless you have a problem with denting pipes I would get the less expensive Aluminum guard. I seem to have a talent for denting pipes so the E-line has been a life saver.

The Moose guard it the strongest by far. It's tough to install cuz it is the thickest one on the market. Heating it with a propane torch (not too hot or it'll melt...trust me
) and tapping it in place with a mallet helps a lot.

I second the Moose. Not much fun to put on but takes the abuse.
