Carbon Fiber skid plates

I ordered a Devol skid plate, but instead got a carbon fiber plate. How durable is this carbon fiber plate going to be compared to a good metal one like the Devol??? I don't want to use it then find out it will chip up or break when needed the most. Thanks........Lee

I think if you hit something hard enough to break that cf skid plate, you'll have other things to worry about...
I had one on my DRZ way back when, never had any issues with it. It will get scratched, lose it's gloss, may even show a few fibers after a while, but they hold up well, IMO. Plus they look cool, lol.
