Honda Z50AK1 CAM Timing

Hello all, i just rebuilt my sons Z50 including replacing the cam with a performance CAM. Could someone please explain to me the steps for timing the CAM, when explaining i'm the guy that would have Honda Z50 for dummies. Thanks and awsome site...

Biglou, the cam timing is done, the only thing thats happen when i try to kick start it is some pops and back fire. I've check the gas, spark plug (good spark) Any help on why this Z50 won't start. The only thing i changed different from this time to last time i rebuilt the engine is the new mini cam.

Not sure. Mine started pretty easily once I got the carb tweaked in close. Other than putting on the big bore kit with new carb and hot cam, I don't have too much experience with these. I'll move this over to the mini forum, lots more mini-specific traffic there...

i HAVENT HAD ALOT OF EXPERIENCE WITH THOSE BUT FROM WHAT I CAN TELL SAOUNDS LIKE YOU DONT HAVE IT TIMED PERFECTLY I WOULD CHECK AGAIN BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.
