Anyone going? I've been wanting to go for a long time and will definately make it this time.

Being a die hard 2 stroke fan, I think this (vintage) thing is where I'm headed. I'll have my KX500 forever, but wouldn't mind having a true vintage racer.

You won't dissapointed with vintage bikes. They are just as much fun now as they were when they were new.......

The vintage crowd just doesn't have all the pressure from fad, marketing, and as much pride. More about fun and the pure enjoyment of mototcycles. I wish I had made the switch back in the ninties.

That's what I'm looking for. With our off road riding areas slowly shrinking, I think moto is the only place that will be left for our 2 strokes. I never did like all the hype around most moto tracks and I think the vintage crowd will be much more pleasing.

Can't wait to see all the vintage iron. I've always like the Evo class bikes since I kinda still ride one, but the mid 70s bikes also look like fun.

It is a great opportunity to ride on the Glen Helen National track, although sensibly they take out the really big hills. The Saturday format will be familiar to the folks who turn out for local SVRG and AHRMA events. Sunday is a brand new gig, but will accomodate two strokes of any age. I am signed up for both days. See you there!

After a 15 year absense from MX I raced in my first race June 5 riding a 1983 YZ490 in the 40+ class. What a blast! I even did all the doubles except for the 6 pack doubles where my lack of timing and only 6 weekends at the practice track in the past 8 months left my confidence a little on the common sense side and my body still intact after the race.
I love the 2 strokes and the old bikes hope to enter 2 or three more races this year and maybe do a Harescramble on my 85 Husky 500 auto.
Nowadays I only race for the fun but the thrill was still there when I was back on the starting line waiting for the gate to drop!
Hope vintage becomes popular enough for more local tracks to add it to thier venue.Having to fly those big doubles to keep up with the guys on newer bikes is is a little hairy sometimes. What ever happened to the good old european type tracks where the track was fast and wide not tight and loaded with jumps?Sure miss those old wide open tracks but at least I don't have to miss those great old open class 2 strokes!!!Not yet....

We are spoiled here in Southern California. The SVRG and CalVMX clubs both negotiate with local tracks to have "vintage-friendly" configurations graded for our events. We also have tracks like Cahuilla Creek and Carlsbad that are naturally old-school.

You guys truly are spoiled. 365 days a year of good riding weather. Have fun and enjoy it!
I'm in Western Wa. and as you know the weather here sucks.

The Vintage Iron World Championships are over for this year. The are normally held at Glen Helen in San Bernardino, CA the 3rd or last week in June. Check out http://www.svrg.com and http://www.vintageiron.com for more details. You can find a vintage event all over the country by going to http://www.ahrma.com and going to the motocross section.

BTW, this year's race was a lot of fun with an epic track that cut up rough in true Glen Helen style. The track is about twice as long as the usual vintage track so most were sucking wind.
