I've got one. It is an outstanding bike. I like it better than the 200exc; primarily because I like the transmission better. I don't think you can get it to run real well with the stock pipe. In my view it's a poor desing. The suspension seems much better than previous years. Mine has one racing season on it and I'm planning at least two more since it is no longer available. I highly recommend it.
I have an 03, for the most part is the same as an 04. Engine is great, suspension needs help, but can be set up quite well for your intended application.
It's a fun bike, needs to be ridden like a 125, but with a little less shifting. I'm keeping mine for another season or two. So far low maintenance.
Great bike you won't be sorry unless you are expecting it to be a 250. It will take some getting used to but it's faster than a 250f and possible to pull holeshots against the 450's.
