could the timing chain on a 125 skip some teeth over time? i went to adjust the valves on my 125 and my valves being at tdc is like a 1/2" to 1" counter clockwise from the mark.
Not really understanding the 1/2" to 1" comment. Do you mean the timing mark on the cam gear is some number of degrees before / after when the valves are at TDC? Have you inspected the gears and checked the chain? The do tend to need replaced when run hard at high RPM because they are not the best quality material. You mention a high rev CDI and inner rotor kit in a previous post on the mini forum so this leads me to think the engine has been pushed beyond it's design / build parameters.
