have any of you guys ran a 98-01 kx250 piston in a 02 kx 250 the part # are diffrent .... i got a couple of new 98-01's laying around and i dont want to go out and buy another if i dont have to

The manufacturers change part numbers on model years even if the dimensions don't. The reason is related to taxes on inventory. Wiseco lumps them all together by part number so theres no reason to think that they aren't interchangable.

cool.....its just that allthe aftermaket companys list a diffrent piston for 02 the only year the 97-01 is listed as another......... thanks

i suppose it would be very wise to measure and compare them just to be sure. Does kawasaki do all the different A, B, C sizes like yamaha and honda, maybe that should be considerd also?

well prox catalog shows that theres 2 diffrent pistons one for 97-01 and 02-03 so i guess i answered my question

My company does the same frustrating thing. I have always wondered why???

the thing is i havent see a 02-03 piston yet to know what the diff is between that one and a 97-01 ..... i know the size hasnt changed but i think port window has change some how .... ... my shop hasnt got one to compare they orderd some for stock today since i let them know theres a diffrance
