400MXC mileage

Just installed an MXC gas tank on my EXC. My first tank with the 2.1 EXC tank ran to 54 miles before hitting reserve.

Anybody checked their mileage with the MXC tanks?

I don't have an odometer but I don't think I am doing to good. At the last race I did I had to put my EXC tank on reserve after an 1:40 min. Does that seem right? It wasn't to muddy. I checked my float level and it was were the manual said it should be. The bike runs fine. The plug looks good. My 250 RM got this good of milage. I expected better from the 4stroke. Anyone have any suggestions?

With this pumper carb my mileage sucks-especially if I'm really on & off the gas in the tight stuff. I'm getting 24-26mpg. I've just gone to one step leaner pilot jet and raised the needle clip one position to see if that'll help. (the bike ran fine before but seemed a tad on the rich side). I'm going to ride this week-end and see what I think.
