'99 Yamaha YZ400 throttle cracked??

Last night I was doing the annual de-gunking of the carb and I noticed the throttle plate was cracked (#12 in the parts pic on BikeBandit.com). In checking prices, I find they run $135-140 :ohmy: . I noticed this is an updated part number, so I'm assuming there may have been a problem with these. Anyone have any other (read: cheaper) ideas???

the cracked part is #12 in the pic which is a plate correct??

float valve is in the list under #12 but seems to me theres a typo somewhere

#12 doesnt look like a float valve to me??

Yup, #12 is what's broke on mine. I thought "typo" when I first looked at it as well.

Ebay. I bought a clean unbored, cylinder for my YZ400 for $60 shipped. If the plate isnt for sale individually, contact someone parting out a YZ400...they are out there.

I would look on ebay for a newer FCR carb. the 99 carbs were the older design. The 426 carbs were better with less problems.
