fmf Q for older bikes

I'm looking to buy a new 125 but i want to make it really quiet. unfortunately I am limited in how much i can spend so it looks like anything newer than a 98 or 97 is going to be to much, and the fmf Q is only made for 99-07 bikes. would it be possible to mount it on a 96 or 97 125 with minimal or no modification?
