i've had a few xr6's and the most thats had to be done with them is pistons rings & clutches after around 20000km following oil & filter every 1500km and valves @ 5000km and general good care. when you let them get too old its gears etc. this is what happens when you try to keep your xr600rf for nostalgia purposes.
got a xr4 (lighter & just as quik they reckoned)but pistons rings & clutch at 10000km and a definate worn out feel at 18000km.
who's experienced what sort of life??
we do a fair bit of tight stuff and enduros and two - week or two a year - trips with the big tank and the desert (benefits of the "lucky country" eh).
