When I bought my bike I was told it has a heavier flywheel. I would like to verify what's in it. Do aftermarket flywheels have the weight stamped on them or is another way to check?
I read through my manual but couldnt find anything on the flywheel. I'm assuming it's located behind the ignition? Do I need a special tool to gain access?
Typically the fly wheel weight sets on top of the flywheel just under the flywheel cover. He was asking whether it is a weld on flywheel weight or a bolt on. You can determine this visually after removing the cover.
what i had meant to say was that if there is something either bolted to or welded to your flywheel (which should be on the left side of your engine under a cover with four bolts and paper gasket) then you have a flywheel weight. also check for any labeling on the prospective flywheel
I looked and this is what I found http://steahlyoffroad.com/weightsdet.php?s_partnum=825_ I guess I need to take it off and look for a marking that will indicate its weight or weigh it myself. I feel I'm mechanically inclined but feel like a dumb arse trying to find a simple flywheel wieght. Thanks for your help.
