its real easy to get an application for a pro am license. contact ama and ask for one they will mail it out. Now as far as qualifications to become a full blown pro thats another egg. over the years the line and criteria seems to fluxuate. Why isn't clear but to type it out would only add to the confusion. bottom line is if you want a pro am license do well in the local A classes and then get your district to sign off for you......i do it all the time.

a full pro license i available but harshly restricts your riding local events.
not many of the pro's you see have full pro licenses to my knowledge

If you have a district that keeps track of points and advancement in your area then you will have to have them sign the license app. this is so that the ama is aware that the local district has an organized way to watch the riders advancement and help them decide that the riders is ready. IF the area doesn't have this then you will likely have to submit race results for 2 years......prolly have to anyway
