Kdx 1990 125

Hi I have just purchased a 1990 kdx 125 as a none runner, I am new to bikes so that that clued up on them, I have now got the bike running but has not idle does anybody know how to set the idle ?
And on the exhaust there is a nipple at the back of can anybody know what this connects to ?
