I have a 2002 KX100 and today after a practice session at a track I was not able to shift my bike up or down or into neutral. It starts fine and I can ride it but I cannot shift at all. Im pretty sure the bike is in 2nd or 3rd gear right now. I checked to make sure my shift lever wasn't bent and it wasn't. It doesn't hit the frame or anything. The clutch engages and disengages correctly. I'd like to check the smaller things before splitting cases  Any Ideas?

:-make sure the shifter isn't slipping on the shaft

:-shut gas off, if required drain coolant, lay bike on mag side
-pull clutch cover off
-remove clutch basket and inspect the sift mechanism

-pull motor out
-split cases
-inspect transmissiom

I took off the clutch cover today and I didn't see any broken bits of anything in the bottom of the case. I guess its time to split the cases :|

I have done some research on kx100's for a friend cause his locked up. I read in one article (on here) that some peoples powervalve gov. has came apart. Right before it locked up they noticed it started shifting funny or would not shift at all. This was due to a 8mm ball the went into the tranny.Do a search and see what you get..Just a thought.
