lifan is a pretty reputable chinese manufacturer. iso9000 certified. quality is generally good. both their 125 and 140 get good reviews for power and quality.

The OGM gets good reviews also though. I don't know the guy that has probelms every time he goes out...maybe he got a lemon. or maybe he's just rough? who knows?

Lifan get's   from me, one of only two sources I'd ever consider getting engines from. The 140 vs 125 question can really only be answered by price. If there's $100 difference go with the cheaper 125 if there's $50 might as well go for the 140.

Well if it's the same engine (same cases, cylinder, etc...) that's way too high. For that kind of spread I'd be liiking for a inner rotor kit, cam, maybe some larger valves...

If you are looking at a price much over $300-$350 you are paying WAAAAY too much for a 138 (aka 140). Besides think about it, do you really NEED that kind of displacement (I won't say power because it's negligable) in a pit bike? Not really, most 110-125 bikes seem to be plenty fast no matter how fat you are.

Welcome to the club! A 107-125 would be plenty.
